Soap and Glory Archery (Love is blonde + Brownie points)

Soap and Glory. // Archery brow tint

I love love love trying out new eyebrow products as I'm always on the look out for anything that will make my brows look that little bit more noticeable. My eyebrows are naturally almost invisible as they are so fair so I love to emphasise them.

I have always been used to using pencils to fill my eyebrows in but throughout the day they just seem to crumble and make my filled in eyebrows looks so un natural which is not the look I want! Boots have a 3 for 2 offer on at the minute across all makeup so I decided to treat my eyebrows to something new. I found myself looking at the Soap and Glory stand as I've had a few of their products before and have not yet been disappointed, and picked up the Archery double ended pen and pencil. On one end the nib is like a felt tip pen and glides beautifully across your eyebrow and the other end is a soft pencil in the same shade. I bought both colours 'Love is Blonde' and 'Brownie Points' as I like to mix and match which colour to do my eyebrows each day depending on how much eye make up I am wearing.

I have took photos of my eyebrows with no product on one side and then the other side I have used Brownie points to fill in the brow. The last 2 photos show both of my brows filled in with brownie points. There really isn't a massive difference between the colours, if you are very fair skinned and you don't like your eyebrows too noticeable go for Love is Blonde. But if you like your eyebrows to stand out then I would definitely recommend Brownie points! The brow tints are priced at £10 each so it is a little more expensive than your drugstore brands however not too high end. I personally don't mind paying this as they really are worth the money as they give me extremely precise, perfect, fuller looking brows!

Hello!! It's been almost a week since I last posted on my blog!! I have been swept into a whirlwind of chaos this week with my university deadlines. But I've finally finished my screen print for the London Serco competition which I have decided to enter through the AOI (Association Of Illustrators)

I had a fantastic halloween, I really do love going out and seeing everyone make an effort to dress up, the costumes are so imaginative! I decided to go as a skeleton this year so bought some suspender skeleton leggings from Love clothing (here) and then I painted my face and chest which surprisingly took me just under an hour. What do you think?

I've been shopping this week so I have lots of things to blog about and share with you. I can't wait to get started again, I have some real treats to show you!

I hope you have all had a fantastic week and an extra spooky halloween! I would love to see some of your outfits and face paint so feel free to comment at the bottom!

Clinique spot treatment gel

Clinique spot treatment gel

As the temperature is dropping and the winter weather is starting to creep up on us, our skin suffers because of this change and we are prone to breakouts. My skin is definitely beginning to suffer, but I am determined to fight off the spots! I have been using Clinique products for the last 4 years and have never been disappointed so I wasn't surprised when their anti-blemish solutions spot treatment worked wonders for me.

The gel is clear and a little sticky, but only a teeny tiny blob is needed for the spot on each application (the size of a grain of rice to be precise) on the horrible breakout. The solution stings a little when applied to the spot, but I like this feeling as it seems like proof that it's working! With one application before bed, in the morning the spot is noticeably smaller, takes away the redness and swelling and is on it's way to being banished from your face for good! I've found that if I apply the treatment morning and night, the spot naturally shrinks and disappears within 3 day which is fantastic. Although this price may be a little steep at £14 for the small 15ml bottle, don't be fooled, the gel lasts sooooo long!! I've had mine for just about a year and I still have three quarters of the solution left and I use it more often than not.

5 Fabulous: Miista Boots

1. / 2. / 3. / 4. / 5. /

I'm always on the look out for new clothes, shoes, bags, makeup.. basically everything and I love sharing my love for all of these things so I've decided to start '5 Fabulous:'. Each week I will post out my top 5 favourite things, it really could be any item, brand, collection.. anything! It's something I have completely made up and can't wait to start! I hope you will like it too. So here we go, the start of something beautiful...

Miista are one of my favourite shoe brands at the minute! I absolutely love the unique styles of each and every one of their shoes. have my eye on all 5 of these gorgeous unique boots from their AW13 collection, I just need to decide which ones I like the most! I thought I would share my top 5 (or 5 fabulous) with you. I already own a pair of Brielle Black Miista boots which I've had for over a year (check out the outfit post here on them) and they are the comfiest pair of boots I have ever had! Every time I go out wearing them I always, always, always receive compliments on them. I really am a proud owner of my Miista shoes.

The ombre lucite heel on 1 and 2 is SO striking, completely unique and screams perfection. The pressed flower design is beautiful and the perfect winter flower print to match with any outfit. Boots 3, 4 and 5 really are the perfect edgy yet slightly grungy boots for this Autumn/ Winter. The chunky soles are what attracted me to these styles straight away, yet each one has a unique design and personality! Zip, buckles, metallic shimmer - they're all so perfect, I love anything with a bit of edge!

Although I'm completly in love with all of these boots. If think I'm head over heels in love with number 2! What do you think?

Dry hair remedy - Wella velvet amplifier

Wella Velvet Amplifier

I have been looking for a hair product to help the dry ends of my hair for so long and I just haven't come across the perfect one! I picked up Wella's velvet amplifier about a month ago and have been using it religiously since I bought it, it's my new favourite hair product.

The product is ideally for use across all of your hair for smooth and responsive styling. However, I only use this product on the ends of my hair as this is the only area that seems to dry out and accumulates so many dead hairs which break off easily. The smell of the product is absolutely divine, it smells fresh and fruity, it's always amazing to have a hair product that smells delicious! The serum really does feel like velvet, so soft and silky, when I felt the product just in my hand I knew it was exactly what I needed. I applied the serum to the ends of my damp hair, only using 2 pumps of it and and then blow dry and style as usual. The results are noticeable from the moment your hair is completely dry, the hair is extremely soft and feels in amazing condition!

The longevity of the product lasts all day and for days after applying the product

Estee Lauder advanced night repair eye

Estee Lauder advanced night repair eye

Recently the skin around my eyes have become very dry, and my eyes are looking more and more tired due to the dark circles and puffiness. I always use my facial moisturiser morning and night and I have been using more so because of my dry eyes. I decided that I needed something stronger to help so took a trip to Debenhams and looked at the different counters. Being a Clinique girl, using their 3 step face routine and foundation I thought I would step out of my comfort zone and try a different brand to help with this problem.

I picked up this advanced night repair eye serum from Estee Lauder (free gift sample with purchase) and was told by the lady on the counter that I should see results in 3 days if I use it morning and night. So I did just this, I used it morning and night for 3 days, and she was right. I did notice good results! Ok, my dark circles didn't completely disappear but my eyes were noticeably healthier looking with less puffiness and I seemed to look more awake. As for my dry skin, that more or less completely cleared up after about a week of using the repair serum. I really am impressed with this product, the serum is kind to my sensitive skin, rubs into my skin beautifully and smells delightful! After 2 weeks of using the eye cream my eyes look healthier and more awake than ever, I now have faint dark circles, no puffiness and no dryness - thank you Estee Lauder!

Hello everyone! So, this week hasn't been very interesting in the life of Jess. The best part about it was when I won myself a Paul's Boutique AW13 bag of my choice!! I was so excited! I had entered a Facebook competition a week ago called "Find Rudy". All I had to do was find Rudy the dog in one of the handbags on their website and write down the name of the bag and then enter. A week later I received an email telling me I had won!! Wooohoooo!! I chose the Jessy Lightning in grey as I love the unique colour and shape of the bag, the large gold lightning bolt zip and the size of the bag is huge, I really can fit everything inside it! I can't wait to show you all, I will write a post on the bag soon, or even do an OOTD.

I have been SO busy with my university work this week so I've not had much time to do anything else (apart from blog) The weather is so gloomy now in Lincoln, I miss the sun! Although I do secretly like the coldness just so I can wear some of my new jackets!

I hope you've all had a lovely week!

OPI Nail Envy (Dry and Brittle) Review

Nail Varnish. // OPI Nail Envy (Dry and Brittle)

I've always had a problem growing my nails, they just don't want to be long and beautiful! Which can be very annoying. After trying Essie's nail strengthen top coat and being very disappointed with the results I thought I'd given up hope until I came across OPI's Nail Envy. After trying almost everything else to help strengthen my nails, I thought.. why not, let's give it a go! I own other OPI nail polishes and have always been pleased with the quality and longevity of the products, and Nail Envy meets all of these standards!

I applied the clear varnish exactly as instructed, 2 coats of varnish to begin with and 1 coat every day. After doing this for a week my nails were noticeably healthier in both appearance and in strength. Two weeks after using the products the results were even better - all of my brittle nails were stronger than ever and growing rapidly! I have been using Nail Envy now for a month and my nails are in the best condition they have EVER been in! The price tag of the varnish is a little pricey at £13.99 (from Amazon) but it really does work wonders and the bottle is 15ml so you get plenty of nail remedy goodness!

There are 6 Nail Envy's to choose from to help every kind of nail problem:
- Original formula: Helps nails grow longer, stronger and harder.
- Matte formula: Same formula as the Original formula but with a natural looking matte finish.
- Sensitive and peeling nails: With Aloe Vera to soothe sensitive nails and Kukui nut oil to prevent peeling.
- Soft and thin nails: With extra calcium to add an extra protective layer on the nail.
- Dry and brittle nails: For nails that break instead of bend, with added vitamins C and E.
- Healthy Maintenance: To help maintain maximum strength of already healthy nails.

How to maintain vibrant red hair! (Ion colour protect for red hair)

Shampoo. // Ion colour protect shampoo for red hair
Conditioner. // Ion colour protect conditioner for red hair

Since having my hair dyed red 5 months ago, I've had a roller coaster adventure trying to find the perfect shampoo and conditioner duo to maintain my bright red hair! I've tried so many different standard 'colour protect' shampoos (which worked for me when I used to have purple and blonde hair) but all of them seemed to strip out my red colour and make it really dull! However, I have finally found the perfect set that barely fades my hair at all, I am so impressed that I just had to share them with you! These are actually my second set of bottles, the first set worked absolute wonders for my hair so I just had to buy more!

The shampoo is a diluted red colour, which helps to seal the red hair dye. I usually wash my hair twice with the shampoo to give my hair a good wash, and there's no need to worry that I'm stripping the colour out by washing it, it's a gentle cleanser! When rinsing the shampoo out the water is a red tinted colour, but don't worry this is just the shampoo being washed out not your wonderful red hair colour! I then apply a 50p sized blog of conditioner all over my hair then another small 1p sized blog concentrating on the ends of my hair healing my split ends. My hair loves the products I have healthy, super soft, delicious smelling hair!:

Another tip, is try not to wash your hair too much. My hair can usually last 5 days before it needs washing again, sometimes even a week! Just use dry shampoo inbetween washes to freshen your hair up!

Autumn Triangles + 20% off at Motel Rocks!

D R E S S. // Motel (Sold out, similar here)
B O W L E R. H A T. // H&M
S H O E S. // Kurt Geiger (last season)
N E C K L A C E. // Topshop (still sold in High street stored, similar online here)

I ordered this perfect dress a couple of months ago for my 21st Birthday in May from Motel Rocks but I completely forgot about it until now! The shape of the dress was the first detail I noticed, I'm not usually a strapless dress kind of girl as I'm always worried it will fall down through the night but this dress is a miracle, it doesn't fall down at all (Yay for Motel Rocks!) I adore the fit and flare style, it's so flattering for any shape and size and because of the netting underneath the dress it doesn't blow up in the wind and show your underwear!! It's such a beautiful dress, I love the triangle beaded detail, it's so unique! I like to wear my red patent Kurt Geiger heels with this outfit as the shoes make the outfit pop out more! I've added my new black bowler hat too, it's perfect for those bad hair days, I've experienced many of those - this hat is the perfect remedy, trust me!

I've teamed up with Motel Rocks offering you lovely followers a special 20% discount! Yay!! They have an amazing AW13 collection, I've got my eye on the Zena Bodycon Dress in Henna Hand Black! Use the code jessica_har at the checkout for 20% off!

What's in my bag?

Bag. // Marks and Spencers

I love reading other "What's in my bag?" blog posts, so thought I would show you what little things I like to carry around in mine! Here's what you will find hanging around in there.. I always have my diary to keep up to date with where I'm going and who I'm seeing, and a mini sketchbook with me everywhere I go. I'm an illustration student so my sketchbook journal always comes in handy when I have ideas, I can quickly draw them in my book of wonders. I have my glasses as I need them for reading and drawing detailed illustrations, if you would like to see some of my work comment below, I would love to share some of my illustrations with you! I aways seem to be on the move so my Apple earphones have a permanent residence in my bag, I love to listen to music wherever I go la la laa. Hairgrips, a hairband and a head scarf are essentials just incase I'm having a bad hair day I like to feel prepared, I really love my new tartan headscarf from Primark at them minute! My keys, purse and umbrella are ALWAYS in my bag, they really are the most essential items. Along with my favourite lip balm, Carmex and a lipstick which I tend to change around every so ofter (at the minute Revlon's Va Va Violet is sitting comfortably in my handbag, I love deep purple's this season!

What essentials are in your bag this season?

Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane Dupes: Garage Shoes

Plantain Boots. // Garage Shoes

We all have a soft spot for Jeffrey Campbell shoes, they just suit every taste and style! The only little problem with owning a gorgeous pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes is the expense. About a month ago I wrote a post about my favourite Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane cheap dupes that are out on the high street right now (read here). One of the dupes I spoke about were the Garage shoes which I was disappointed with because I couldn't get hold of a pair in my size, but guess what? I managed to get hold of a pair!! All it took was a simple email to Garage asking if they were going to restock these beautiful cut out boots and within an hour I got a reply explaining they had managed to get hold of a pair for me and were sending them to my local store! Their customer service was excellent!

So here I am, wearing my new Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane dupes. Although the sizing is a little big, I still absolutely adore them and for a price tag of only £24.99 I'm really not complaining! The boots didn't take long to wear in as I wore them around the house with big thick socks. The only difference I could obviously see again was the extra shine of the boots because of the faux leather, but apart from that everything else was perfect from the silver buckles, to the cut-outs and the chunky heel and platform.

I'm so happy with these dupes and I would definitely recommend if you can get hold of a pair to buy them!
